There’s something for everyone as the Greenville County Museum of Art continues a range of special events and programs on Thursday evenings. The Museum is open every Thursday until 8 pm. It's a cool, comfortable way to spend some time!

June 17
Art on a Spoon takes on Southern Traditions: A History of BBQ with William McKinney, co-author of Holy Smoke: The Big Book of North Carolina Barbecue

June 24
Music in the Galleries: Relax and enjoy the Fine Art Ramblers, performing a mix of music from banjo to blues to celebrate the Museum’s exhibition, Grey Album.

July 15
Artists Talk: Greenville Painter Teri Pena looks at Local Color: Landscapes from the Southern Collection

July 29
Sketch from masterworks in the Museum while learning about Andrew Wyeth’s approach to rendering people. Sketchpads and pencils will be provided.

August 5
Music in the Galleries: Relish the last days of summer with Judy McKenney and Bob Haubenreich, presenting a program of Irish and Appalachian music and song performed on the hammered dulcimer, banjo, and guitar.

August 19
Artists in Action: Watch Pat Kilburg demonstrate the ancient art of encaustic, a technique of painting with pigments dissolved in hot wax.

 

Thursday evening programs begin at 6:30 pm and
they're all absolutely free!
