There’s something for everyone as the Greenville County Museum of Art offers a range of special events and programs on Sunday afternoons at 2:00. The schedule includes gallery talks, lectures, music, and demonstrations. Many are designed specially for families with small children.

February 12
Music in the Galleries, a performance by the Foothills Cello Choir.

February 19
Family Art Adventure: Explore Nature with Paint!
Adults and children can share in this landscape demonstration, followed by a hands-on activity in the Museum’s art studios.

February 26
Art on a Spoon: a cooking demonstration inspired by the art of Jasper Johns.

March 4
Gardening in Tune with Nature
Writer and Master gardener Marian St. Clair will lead this spring-time discussion.

March 11
Andrew Wyeth: The Evolving Landscape
Andrew Wyeth’s granddaughter, Victoria Wyeth, shares an insightful and entertaining look into the artist’s life and work.

March 18
Poetry in the Galleries: Poet and professor Alex Richardson will read selections from his own poetry and discuss how verse relates to visual art.

March 25
Music in the Galleries, featuring the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band/Langley Winds

April 1
Sketching in the Galleries, with artist Paul Flint. Sketch pads and pencils provided.

Music in the Galleries: a performance by the Pride of Greenville Men’s Choir.

Family Art Adventure!
Fiber artist Deb Potter will lead a demonstration and hands-on activity in coil basket making.

Visible Voices: Poets from the Emrys Foundation will interpret paintings in Andrew Wyeth: The Greenville Collection.

May 6
Family Art Adventure!
Children and adults will enjoy a mask making adventure inspired by the art of Helen Dupré Moseley.

May 13
Celebrate Mother’s Day with Music in the Galleries, featuring The Velvet Guitar of Jeffrey Bianchi.

May 20
Salsa with Gordy Brown, a demonstration of the Latin American dance that marries jazz and rock.

May 27
Sketching in the Galleries, with artist Susan Weiner. Sketch pads and pencils provided.
