Getting Here

Whether you are a teacher planning a field trip to the Museum or a parent who wants to make a family Museum visit come alive, the Greenville County Museum of Art offers tools that will make your visit more productive. Some exercises can be carried out before you come to the Museum. Others are meant to happen in the gallery.

The Museum offers free tours for groups of ten or more. To arrange one, reach Mrs. Steck by email or call her at 864-271-7570, extension 17.

Dialogue: What is a Museum?

  • It's a place of adventure, discovery and learning
  • a fun place to explore and learn about the world
  • a direct link with our past
  • a place to see original works of art

What is Our Goal?

  • to introduce the visual arts as a source for learning
  • to explore what a work of art might have meant when it was made, and
  • what it may say now
